Mental health Services
Lifespire has a sixty year history of providing high quality services that allow individuals with developmental disabilities to live a high quality of life. Our commitment to stewardship; integrity; excellence; innovation and growth is evident throughout all of our programs:
SPAN (Special Programs for Assessing Needs) is a group of programs under the auspices of the Office of Mental Health. SPAN provides services to individuals with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. Specialized services are available for individuals with a secondary diagnosis of mental retardation
Continuing Day Treatment is a recovery service that encompasses psychiatric and individualized therapeutic daily activities.
Vocational Program is a rehabilitation training program which provides evaluation, counseling, and paid work experience.
Article 31 Clinic provides comprehensive clinic treatment services including psychiatry, individual, group, and family therapy.
Enclave in Industry: Provides enhancement of the vocational skills of the individual consumer and the reinforcement of the ability to maintain a position in an integrated employment enclave.
Peer Advocate is a peer run supportive service to facilitate the integration of the consumers into community services, and inform consumers about their rights under the law.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for Lifespire's Mental Health services, an individual must
have a primary psychiatric diagnosis and an IQ over 50. We primarily
serve Queens and Southern Brooklyn residents. Contact individual unit
directors for additional catchment areas.
