PROGRAMS & SERVICES

This program provides opportunities for individuals with limited work-related skills to participate in the appropriate tasks to enhance their ability to obtain integrated employment. Individuals are able to have paid work experiences and learn about the world of work as a result of this program. Clarification of employment goals and resources to assist the consumer in reaching his/her goals is the primary focus of this program.

Should an individual benefit from a vocational training program but may be ineligible for or chooses not to participate in the Pre-Vocational Program, he/she may be able to choose Lifespire's Vocational, Experience and Training Services.

The Lifespire Vocational, Experience and Training Services (VETS) offers consumers job preparation through actual paid work experience, and vocational counseling. Individuals with developmental disabilities are introduced to the world of work, and are able to earn money while better defining their employment goals. Both the Pre-Vocational and the VETS programs are offered in each of the five boroughs of New York City.

Eligibility Criteria:
Individuals with developmental disabilities are eligible for Lifespire's Pre Vocational and VETS Programs. In order to be considered for these services, the individual will need to provide the program with documentation (medical, psychological and psychosocial) which demonstrates evidence of a developmental disability.
